The cave reseach foudation was established in the U.S.A. in 1957 to support exploration and research in Cavernas, to asist in the interpretation of cave and karst fatures to the public and to aid conservations in Cavernas. Initially work was restriced to the Central Keentucly Karts, An outline of the hisotry of the exploraration of Cavernas in the mammoth cave area of kentuchy frompre-Comlubian times present-day is followed by a description of the organizasion of the C.R.F. and of exploratory cartographic and scientific work carried out by this body
