Only one-eleventh of the cave passage prsently known under mendip was accesible before 1900. Most of the reniander was discovered by digging. Of a range of possible surface digging sites , the most promising are the thale-edge sonks of Central Mendip. Undergorund, almost any ckoker pasing boulder ruckes and disposing of tipsutff are described
