The stratigraphic record in teh Upper Mississipi Valley region contains paleokarts of Ordovician. Devonian , Pnessylvanian, and creataceous ages: it also reveals interstratal karstification between the shakoppe dolomite and the overlying St. Peter sandstone, between the Oneota dolomite and the overliying New Richmond sadstone, and between the Oneita dolomite and the underlyng blue earthe silstone
